Visualizing Cooking Sounds with p5.js Spectrograms
Ever wondered what your favourite dish sounds like? With this fun p5.js template, you can transform food preparation sounds into a unique spectrogram poster! It’s super easy, just follow these 4 steps:
Step 1: Sourcing Audio
Find an audio file, it can be a recording of your mom’s cooking preparation or a clip of your favourite food preparation from Youtube! Keep it short and sweet (preferably under 30 seconds) and make sure it’s in MP3 format.
- Video file
- Convert to audio (.mp3)
- Compress audio (30s or less)
Step 2: Use the p5.js Template
I’ve got everything set up for you! Just open the p5.js template (link below) and get ready to create something extraordinary.

Step 3: Add Your Audio & Customise
Upload your MP3 file into the template. Then, personalise your poster by changing the title and text to reflect on the audio.
